Judaism
The modern translation of the Torah that you will find online here was published by the Jewish Publication Society in 1985. There are also versions of the Nevi'im & Ketuvim, & links to Readings.
NB: The Hebrew Bible (Tanakh) is roughly
equivalent to the Christian Old Testament, and has three parts, Torah, Nevi'im
& Ketuvim. The Torah, in the narrow sense, (the Written Torah) is the
Pentateuch, the first five books of the Bible. The Nevi'im are the Prophets
- Samuel, Kings, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and the Twelve Minor Prophets. The
Ketuvim is the Writings, including Psalms and Proverbs, Esther and Ecclesiastes,
Daniel, Chronicles, Ruth, and the love poetry of Song of Songs. If you take
the T (from Torah), the N (from Nevi'im) and the K (from Ketuvim), and put them
together in one word, you have TNK. Add some vowels and it becomes the Tanakh.
Text versions of the Torah, Nevi'im & Ketuvim available at:
